Introduction :
The word biochemistry is derived from the Greek word 'bios' means life. Biochemistry is the chemistry of life. That's why, a knowledge of biochemistry is essential to all life sciences.
Definition:
The scientific study of the chemistry of Living things is called Biochemistry.
PH: It is the measuring scale by which acidity or alkalinity of a liquid is determined. The ph scale extends from 0-14.
Acid: Acid is the substance that Produce hydrogen ion (H+) when dissolved in water.
PH 7= Neutral
PH more than 7= Alkaline
PH less than7= acidity
PH= potential of hydrozen
Alkali: Alkali is the substance that produces hydrogen ion (OH-) when dissolved in water. Example : sodium Hydroxide solution (NaOH) splits into sodium (Na+) and hydroxyl (OH-) when dissolved in water.
